Our history (or at least as much as we remember):
1981: FitzCo Sound is born. Our first location was 204 N. Midkiff, conveniently located next door to a Church's Chicken. Large quantities of All-white-meat chicken dinners with crinkle fries are eaten. Although FitzCo was originally born as a broadcast supply, the founders had already been renting sound systems to clients around the Permian Basin for a few years. From the beginning FitzCo had multiple sound systems available for rent, with or without technicians.
1985: Already we've outgrown a building. This year we moved up the street, to 912 N. Midkiff, conveniently located at the intersection of two major thoroughfares. As our new building was once housed a bank, we now enjoyed the presence of a walk-in vault and bullet-proof glass. Although we would have been happy to continue the prior tenant's pactice of taking deposits through the drive-up window, we knew sooner or later someone would want to make a withdrawal, so we stuck to what we knew: Sound and lighting.
1993: Again we've outgrown a building. This time we moved across town, into a vacant automobile dealership on Wall Street, where we still are today. The building, with its large showroom and multiple service bays, proved to be perfect for full-scale Audio/Visual business we had become. The large parking lot gave us ample room for our trucks, while the bays gave us room to house our growing inventory of lighting systems, sound systems, and audio/visual equipment. The location was perfect, putting us less than 5 minutes from most of the major hotels and venues in Midland, and less than 25 minutes from Odessa. Convenient, easy to find, and easy to get to.
More to come...
